Before we begin...

Before the first interview, we will set up a time to meet with you. This is valuable time that we will spend chatting with you about the scope of the project and answering any questions you have. We will leave an outline with you of exactly what we will need from you at the time of the first interview. This includes a timeline, pictures, letters, and other significant documents. We want you to have a complete history of your life all in one special book.

Let's get started...

The interviews will be divided into your major life segments: childhood, teenage years, college, courtship, war, children, work, etc. You will always have the opportunity to think more about the questions we've asked and add on to what has already been said at our next meeting. We will interview you anywhere from 10-16 hours depending on your project; the interviews will be divided into one to three hours a day.

Writing your book...

Once the interviews are complete, we will send the digital recording of the interview to our transcriptionist. When we receive the written copy back from her, the editing and rearranging of the text will begin. We strive to maintain your "voice" throughout the book, while still transforming the spoken language into a readable text for your family to enjoy.

Wrap up...

After editing, formatting, and designing your book pages, we will deliver the final draft to your home for approval. This is your chance to add or delete anything you wish. Once we receive that copy back from you, we will have it bound and printed.
